mid-week recap

Happy Wednesday!
I can't get over that May is almost here.
I hope April treated you well and you had a good Easter.
I was doing homework the whole weekend
so I am just now playing catch-up...

(basic v tee - target, comfy utility pants and shoes - Marshals)

My boyfriend and I took a break from homework,
grabbed lunch (and of course coffee), and enjoyed the nice weather.
I randomly came across purple chalk and instantly became
8 again and doodled up the sidewalk.

Then it was right back to work!
One of my favorite parts of my homework
is my Fashion Illustration assignments.
The first one we had to draw was an avant garde outfit
on 25.5 x 19.5 tone paper - that is huge paper!

I chose Alexander McQueen's ostrich feather and silk dress.

Because it is toned paper I laid down minimal marker work
and went back in with color pencils to add all the detail.

Don't mind her face lol that is my weakest area.

The other assignment was eveningwear.
I was really proud of myself for mixing colors in this dress.

I am still a little in disbelief that I created these,
and I am so glad that I have been able to that the classes
and explore something that I can enjoy doing
from this day forward
I think it also helps that I have an awesome
instructor who is very inspiring.

It is already Mid-term week!!

I told myself that I will be locked away this weekend
to get all my projects and studying done.
It will be me and this little surrounded by books,
papers, art supplies, coffee, and my computer.

  12. I think chalk brings out the 8 year old in everyone. Don't worry, you're not alone!! Also, that eveningwear sketch is beautiful. I tried my hand at fashion sketching a while back, but for whatever reason I got distracted and put it down. I think you may have inspired me to get out my old sketch books and prismacolors!

  14. Yours sketches are absolutely spectacular! I envy your talent. When I was a kid I was dead set on becoming a designer but many notebooks filled with scribbles later I realized I can't draw to save my life LOL. The puppy is adorable but I'm sure you already know that!!
