recap: trip home

To say I enjoyed my time home is an understatement
I LOVED every minute of it ♥

I didn't get much of a summer break due to the fact
that my school is year-round.. 3 weeks to be exact and it goes by fast..
So my time home was my much needed vacation.

I got to spend a lot of time with my family
who I hadn't seen in six months and missed greatly.

We were able to grab launch in beautiful Saratoga
the first weekend I was back.

I was also able to attend what turned out to be an amazing 14 inning
Giants game with one of my best friends and her bf.

We took the train up, ate garlic fries, and watched the game
from some of the best seats I've been in recently.
It was definitely a game I will never forget ♥

Before leaving I saw on The Glitter Guide facebook page that
they were having a launch party in the city the same time I was
going to be up there, so I found the courage to rsvp.

My boyfriend was a huge sport and came with me.
( I'm glad he did, we were the only strangers )
I was extremely nervous because I had never been to any sort
of blogging event before, and most of these girls are kinda like my idols.
I had no idea what to expect..

Although I knew no one personally
I was really proud of myself for doing something out of my comfort zone.
We are taught all the time in school that networking is extremely important,
and even though I talked to no one.. it was my first baby step/ attempt.

* I did say hi to Alicia from Cheetah is the New Black at the very end.
I was very glad I did! She was super nice,
and of course dressed super cute (as always).

I was definitely sad to leave the Bay Area after sending
two amazing weeks there but I do get to look forward to
visiting again in September!

Thank you for following along on my summer 2011 vaca.

extremely addicting

I mentioned before that I had downloaded Instagram for my Iphone this past week
for my vacation trip home - Well as many now know from having it yourselves
It is extremely addicting!!
For some reason, it has a way of making all of your quick-phone-shots look amazing.
You get to choose from about 12 finishing effects, and each one
just tops off the shot in the most perfect way.. it's almost hard to decide which one.

Here are some of my favorites from the past weekend:

Coronas & lime

OPI - Hot & Spicy

Our house in the Santa Cruz mountains

2nd day by the pool

tons of watermelon

Hot, hot, hot weather

Smalls keepin' cool

Foster City Fireworks to end the night

If you have an Iphone, or a smartphone that allows you to download apps,
I highly recommend checking this one out.
Super user friendly!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend
Happy Tuesday

The 405/101/85/280/92

We finally made it!
We managed to get on the road by 6:00am with Starbucks & donuts in hand.
Stopped Once in SLO for gas/ potty break, and arrived at 1:00!
Not Bad for taking 101 the whole way.

So I joined the club and downloaded Instagram,
I'm a little obsessed with it now, clearly..

My phone died in Gilroy so the cherry stand was the last picture.
I have some that I took today around town & on our little adventure
into the city this evening - if you're interested come follow me on

It feels so good to be home!

Happy Tuesday

little things

little things for summer
Just a few new items I have added
to my tiny accessories collection.

If you don't have a Free People boutique by you
I highly suggest that you check out their accessories online!

Thankfully, I happen to have one close at South Coast Plaza
and went a bit crazy when I saw the gold bangles, sunnies, small shoulder bag,
and the two rings up top.

The gem ring I picked up at Nordy's (a perfect statement piece),
and the red charm bracelet is from H&M.

I also tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects polish strips
in Glitz Blitz. Totally fun and easy to use, I was also
happy that they made my baby nails look glam.

Happy 1st-day-of-summer Tuesday
Anyone else excited for Pretty Little Liars tonight?
I'm completely hooked and they always are dressed so cute!

Looking forward to sharing more now that finals are OvERrRRrr!

School Assignment: Marc Jacobs, Oh, Lola

School Assignment
{ Week #10 - Current Designers }

by Julie Naughton
Source: WWD ISSUE 06/10/2011
Summary: Marc Jacobs will be launching later this summer, Oh, Lola.
He has been in the fragrance business since September 2001.
"I never thought when we started years ago that we'd be a big player
in the fragrance world. It seemed like, at best, we could have the name
on a bottle, but I didn't think we'd have such success and appreciation
from the public," Jacobs told WWD.
Originally, Jacobs’ scent license was held by the American Designer Fragrances
division of the LVMH-owned Parfums Givenchy and distributed in about
200 doors in the U.S. In 2003, Jacobs’ beauty license was acquired
by the Coty Prestige division of Coty Inc.
That 2003 sale to Coty has launched some of Jacobs’ biggest scents to date,
which include 2007’s Daisy, 2010’s Bang and 2009’s Lola.
The last fragrance is getting a little sister, Oh, Lola,
a play on "oh la la." She has a recolored bottle
and is a little more seductive - Sweeter.

to reveal the heel, and a cigarette trouser in taffeta accessorized with a bow belt."
In this collection he has reinterpreted his iconic daywear with light touches from
the Far East, "the asymmetric cuts, the precious buttons and the gem-inspired
