National Pet Week

This morning I saw Danielle @Breakfast at Toast's post about National Pet Week

and knew I wanted to join in and share a bit about my little guy.

Although I did not get Smalls from a rescue shelter, 

I do consider myself his rescuer ♥

I got Smalls May 12, 2008 from a boutique puppy shop.

The owner was a breeder and had all the puppies there in a playpen together.

Smalls was the only boy, the only one with color, and the tiniest.

I would have never guessed the issues this little boy was going to develop.

Smalls is an extremely allergenic dog.

He is deathly allergic to bees (stung twice), 

extremely sensitive to steroids (close liver failure), 

and has been tested positive to another 20 things he is allergic to.

(Certain trees and weeds, cats, black ants, etc.)

Smalls actually goes to a dog dermatology clinic for all

of his treatments and check-ups.

If you haven't been exposed to something like this with your pet,

 you don't even realize that these problems exist, 

I know I didn't.

It is extremely sad to see how miserable some of these

animals can get - from bald spots due to itching, to red eyes and toes.

Smalls has two bald spots on either side of his back,

he gets sweaty armpits (no joke), 

and if an infection develops (which they often do) 

he will get little red spots all over his belly.

Every other day he takes 2 to 4 different pills to help with

his itching and to prevent infections.

We have even done allergenic shots in hopes of him building

up a tolerance to what he is allergic to.

I know that this gets costly at times, and frustrating,

 but I do all I can because I love him so much!

I just learned this weekend that some people put their pets down

due to this condition

and even though I can understand why...

 I would never consider doing this to my little guy!

If you want to become a pet owner the only thing I ask you

to consider is are you willing take care of any medical needs they may have?

Being a pet owner is so rewarding in so many ways, and saving 

their lives is one of them. They know when you have, trust me.

Smalls looks at me with the most loving eyes and even takes care of me at times.

(If I am crying he comes running and cleans them up)

Because of Smalls I have a bigger heart than I did before,

and value life so much more ♥

Today is my little guy's birthday!!

You probably think I'm crazy, but every year

I am truly blessed that I have him ♥

He is a little bit of a miracle due to some past health issues..

And everyday he is a trooper for

taking his medicines and wearing a t-shirt to cover his skin.

(( his t-shirt today says Thug Life lol ))

He doesn't get out much so we treated him to the park!

I had also stopped by Sprinkles and got him..

(they are doggy-friendly cupcakes if you were wondering)

needless to say he loved them ♥

And just like a real little kid he totally was on a sugar high

when we got home. We're talking full blown laps around

the coffee table and biting my dress to play.

Well Smalls you are one year older

and one year wiser, I can tell by those grays on

your chinny-chin-chin lol

Starting Construction: New Banner

So I have started the "construction" around here.

I created a new banner last night.. 

I wanted to include all my own personal pictures

that are all little pieces of me.. 

Because DUH my blog title states how much

 'I love to share' lol

My last banner was my own hands that I 

put into Illustrator and turned into a vector..

Blah, blah, blah - nerd computer stuff

 Anyways I thought it would be fun

to personally share what each picture is, and why.

 

Down here in SoCal most freeways have stone pictures on the walls, 

to me its a symbol of the many drives I have made between my two homes,

 as well as all the driving that is just done around here!

this is my little guy! This picture to me symbolizes how precious life is ♥

Smalls and I have been through a lot - in a three month span last year

 he almost died on me 3 times. He means the world to me, and I am his protector.  

I took this picture outside my house in the Bay Area. I have always been

in love with palm trees, and they are pretty much the only tree

I can draw with detail and have it look real lol

I also enjoy this picture because it was sunset, so all that yellow is real - No Ps.

This is my first cocktail ring that I bought from a consignment shop.

It symbolizes to me my ability to find beauty in old/used, 

as well as my thrifty shopping skills - $15.

I'm a Fashion Marketing and Management Major.

I took this outside the California Marketing Center on one of our field trips.

This day was the moment I realized I really am in the right major/industry

for me! I have found my passion and can't wait to see where it takes me.

I love my OPI nail polish, and I'm pretty addicted to my make-up as well.

I consider both a form of art - a lot of time and patients go into them..

at least for me lol

I am located a good 30 to 40 minutes south from Hollywood,

But to me the whole area symbolizes *Dreams, for me that will be clothes!

I love Cup Cakes! And most desserts. It is my mission to find

the BEST Cup Cakes and Tiramisu ♥

I could eat desserts for every meal and I think they are just adorable.

I am also a recovering addict of Starbucks lol

My favorite drink is an iced Upside-down Carmel macchiato, 

w/ non-fat milk & extra carmel.. And Hot Chocolate no whip

There is nothing better than meeting up with friends to get coffee.

One of my best friends took this beautiful picture of me a couple of

summers ago - seeing her pictures and her passion for them

really inspired me to find a hobby/passion for something..

and here it is, my blog.

And lastly, the Golden Gate Bridge. I took this picture last 

winter break when I was home. This picture grounds me, I know where I came from

and wouldn't change it for the world. I love my home and know that

no matter what happens in life it will always be there for me

Update - Why M.i.a.

UPDATE - I have been M.i.a. (missing in action) 

and I apologize ♥

I just got back down to Southern California

 from my two week visit Home in the Bay.. 

And its now crunch time to get back into school mood, 

on top of unpacking and all the other lovely errands

 that need to be run.. 

I also have been bad at posting because I have been

contemplating whether or not to change the look on here..

just some minor changes, but stuff that I will need to 

actually look up how to format, and what not.

We'll see, but please stick with me through it. 

I promise to be back to my daily postings soon!

It's beginning to look a LOT like CHRISTMAS ♥

I don't know about you..

BUT the whole month of December is 

my favorite time of the year!!

Hot Chocolates with whipped cream & candy canes ♥

Purchasing all the gift-wrapping fixings!

Wrapping all the presents to take home.

And storing them under my little Christmas Tree ♥

It doesn't hurt to have a little helper either : ]

Other festive things on 

My To-Do List:

- make sugar cookies with red & green sprinkles

- GO ICE SKATING!

- watch all the christmas movies I can

- purchase a 3-tin-popcorn (FAVORITE!)

- get my mom to make her coffee cakes & toffee bars, YUMMY

- Find the neighborhoods with the CRAZY lights.. 

At home they are in San Carlos..

&

- Listen to more Christmas music! PANDORA is amazinggg.
